History & Documentation
Reg No: G810VRO
Owners: 3
Mileage: 66500, (see text)
HPI: Clear
MOT: May 2023, no advisories
Keys: 2

The car was delivered to Mrs L on 24/1/1990 by Mercedes Benz dealer J.R Tagger LTD in Watford and was subsequently serviced their every year until 1992, when the car passed to Mr M (via Mercedes Benz of Woking) who was clearly a fastidious enthusiast, keeping the car until 2015 and keeping copies of all service invoices.  To say this car was over serviced would be an understatement, with annual services (exclusively with Mobil lubricants) regardless of mileage which was generally 1-2k a year.    Only from 2011, did Mr M. decided biannual would be sufficient, being serviced again in 2013 and then 2015 before the car passed to Mr S.   Mr S. also kept good records and his expenditure includes a head gasket replacement in 2018, costing in excess of £2000.

Around March 2019, the odometer stopped working showing 64190 miles, as the spindle fell out of the securing bore meaning although the speedometer was working, the miles were no longer being recorded.  Mr. S continued to use the car as before, so by our calculations, the car should be showing approx 2000 miles more than it does today.  We have now had the unit professionally repaired so although the mileage shown is incorrect, be in no doubt that this is a very low mileage car with traceable history.

Since taking custodianship of the car, we have carried out a full service including brake fluid to ensure the car is well prepared for use.  We are in possession of the original book pack, original service book, original build card and numerous invoices/MOTs.  The car has a fresh MOT with no advisories so is ready to go.

Mechanical Condition
The car starts on the key and settles quickly to a nice, even idle.  Moving off, the gearbox is smooth and the steering and suspension feel as smooth and comfortable as a Mercedes should.   This is no racer, pace is gathered gently, but it is a very pleasant drive.  The car stops well and is perfectly at home in modern motoring.   The accolade of being 'one of the last proper Mercedes' is somewhat overused and tedious but it certainly feels like it was engineered and constructed in a way that is long past and all the better for it.

Exterior Condition
The paintwork is in fantastic condition, with the silver coachwork holding a lovely shine.   It is overwhelmingly original with all even panel gaps and intact factory welds supporting the fact that this is an accident free car.  There are some very minor blemishes in the paintwork but not to the extent that they draw the eye. The tyres are matching Goodyear Eagles, all with approximately 4mm remaining tread and the wheels are in excellent condition with no discernible marking.  The car has never been welded and nor does it require it.  A couple of nice nods to originality include the Mercedes Benz Woking number plates from 1992 and all the glass is correctly etched.  This is not a concours car, but it is very straight and original and draws admiration wherever it goes.

Interior Condition
The condition of the interior is in similarly great condition and this car is particularly enjoyable in that it sports an unusually high specification with electric windows, sunroof, central locking, ABS and rear head restraints - believe it or not, this all had to be paid for in 1990!  Everything works and all warning lights go out as they should.  The leather seats show little wear with just some minor scuffing to the driver bolster and all the plastics are in good condition.  The only area that a new owner might want to turn their attention to are the front door cards, which have lifted at the door tops due to ageing, a well known issue with 190Es.   That said, this is is generally a fantastic example inside and a very enjoyable environment to be in.

Summary
This must be one of the most original, usable examples on the market, with a great specification and respectable provenance to support the low mileage and low ownership.  We are more than happy to provide additional information on request, please don’t hesitate to contact us if required.
