Overview
We are pleased to offer, for the first time since it was purchased new in late 2008, this low mileage BMW Z4 Coupe.  This was one of the last E86 models, with the range having enjoyed a short but celebrated life.  Less polarising than the Z3 Coupe, the Z4 was still a very striking machine and for the first time was available in the UK as a non-M model for broader appeal.  This particular example has the N52 3.0Si engine producing 261hp and is widely regarded as BMW’s normally aspirated swansong (Motorsport engines excepted of course).  Mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle controls, it is capable of a sub-six second sprint to 60mph which is somewhat more than adequate.  In Sport trim, the car came with stiffer suspension, sport body mouldings and staggered 18” alloys.  Finished in Sapphire Black with Dream Red Oregon leather, it is supplied with the following equipment:

18” staggered ‘Style 203’ alloy wheels
Electric Windows
Electric Mirrors
Sun protection glass
Electric, heated leather seats
Individual Piano black trim
Integrated Professional Sat Nav
Park Distance Control
Cruise Control
Xenon headlights
Voice Control System
Bluetooth phone preparation

The car was supplied by Chandlers in Brighton to it’s one and only owner, Mr.H who has owned the car for over 10 years.  As the owner of a not inconsiderable collection, mileage has been kept very low but the car has been used frequently.  Chandlers have always serviced the car and recently it was subjected to an Oil Service so some 15,000 miles before the next Inspection is due.  We are in possession of all the original booklets and service book as well as the original bill of sale, which with all options came to over £38,000.

Mechanical Condition

As you might expect from a 25,000 mile BMW, the car is in excellent mechanical condition.  The car starts up straight away and settles to a quiet idle.  Moving off, the gearbox is smooth and once on the move, you are impressed by the tautness and responsiveness of the car.  There are no knocks or nasty noises and it drives as new.  There is a ‘sport’ button which sharpens up throttle response and changes the gearbox characteristic – it really focusses the car and in return can provide an exhilarating experience.   It is equally at home pottering around lazily meaning you are able to enjoy the best of both worlds in one car.

Exterior Condition
Upon approaching the car, you are immediately drawn to the metallic black paintwork which holds a deep lustre and really sets off the clever ‘flame surfacing’ design, probably the most coherent of BMW’s in the 2000’s.  The paintwork is 100% original and the alloy wheels have never been refurbished and are adorned with Michelin and Bridgestone tyres.  Unusually for Z4s, the front of the car is not peppered with unsightly stone chips and indicates careful ownership (we know this to be true as we also have another immaculate car in stock from the same source).  There are a couple of very minor blemishes which would have to be pointed out to be noticed – all in all a stunning looking car.

Interior Condition
Opening the door reveals a stunning colour combination of red leather seats and door inserts with piano black trims that give sporting but polished feel. Having covered so few miles, naturally the seats are in fine condition as is the rest of the trim.  All dashboard lights go out as they should and everything works.  The steering wheel is particularly comfortable to hold and further adds to a great driving experience, regardless of the journey.

Summary
This is a relatively rare car (less than 4000 sold in the UK), but you will struggle to find another with this mileage, provenance and condition.   These were highly praised cars when launched and 10 years on they have stood the test of time very well.  The condition is a credit to its keeper and we are sure that it will find an equally caring new keeper before long.  Thank you for reading the advert thoroughly and please do not hesitate to contact us if you’ve further questions.
