Overview
We present this lovely, low mileage BMW 330Ci Sport, on the open market for the first time in 13 years. This is a pre-facelift E46 model from 2001, specified in the highest trim level of a non M-car, fitted with the 231hp 3.0 straight six engine with the less common 5 speed manual gearbox which makes the most of the wonderful engine and chassis. This is a particularly rare example as it is finished in Imola Red, surely one of BMW’s finest colours, complemented by a black leather interior and is supplied with the following equipment:

The car was supplied by Bridgegate in Derby to its first owner, Mr.K in 2001 who kept the car for at least 2 years, then passing it on to Mr.S who kept the car until 2006. It was then passed to Mr W and kept in the same family after 2 years it passed to Mr W Sr, his father, who kept it for 11 years, meaning the car has been in the same family for 13 years. All owners have elected to use the BMW main dealer network for servicing and repairs, and we have the original service book stamped as such as well as numerous invoices for work carried out as well as old MOTs. An online check of MOT history will reveal a very low count of advisories over the last 13 years indicating a fastidious attitude towards maintenance. We are in possession of all the original booklets and additionally we know that that the car was kept in the BMW warranty scheme until this year.
Mechanical Condition
As would be expected of the mileage and history, the car is in excellent mechanical condition of the car is excellent. The car starts up straight away and settles to a quiet idle. Moving off, the clutch is light as is the gearbox and once on the move, there are no knocks or nasty noises and everything feels tight. The car handles very well indeed and is capable of a decent turn of speed for an 18-year-old car. All in all, a lovely driving experience with no discernible wear and tear.
Exterior Condition
The paintwork is in great condition and holds a lovely deep shine, especially evident in direct sunlight. All panel gaps are correct and factory welds and seams are all intact. The alloy wheels are in great condition with only minor rubs to one front alloy which are only noticeable on close inspection. The wheels are shod in the factory specification Michelin Pilot Sports all round, with the rears wearing the wider 255 section tyres so handling is unaffected from standard specification. All tyres have excellent tread, the rears being nearly new. The car also wears its original Bridgegate number plates. There is a scuff on the lower corner of the front bumper, presumably from a kerb, which is not evident at standing height and a small scratch on the rear corner bumper but other than this, it is an exceptionally smart example which belies its 18 years of age.
Interior Condition
The interior is in fantastic condition, with barely any wear evident and shows how much care the owners of this car have taken. All electrics work and all dashboard lights go out as expected. The seats are in fantastic condition, as are the carpets which in addition to the standard BMW overmats, have been protected with fitted rubber overmats. Even the boot has had a liner in it, so the standard boot carpet is also in exceptional condition. The only fault we could find was with the parking sensors which are intermittent in operation, but overall this is a a lovely place to be in.
Summary
It is rare to find a manual, Imola Red 330Ci Sport and even rarer still to find an example with such low mileage and excellent history. This car has clearly been cherished by its owners and we’ve no doubt that will continue when a new owner is found.
